Figeac, France

Four summers ago, I went to the south of France with my french exchange student Camille and her family. I instantly fell in love with this quaint and beautiful town. Figeac was popular but at the same time only known to french people. This town is known for their wine and distinct flavours of cheese. Although, before France I was not the “cheese enthusiast” I can say that Figeac changed that. I always strive to try to new and exotic dishes wherever I travel. While in Figeac, we kayaked, swam, hiked, and shopped. I met a lot of new people at the town’s massive swimming center. Going on vacation with one of your friends is always better. We got to go off on our own and would visit our favorite cafe daily. By the end of the trip the waiters and waitresses knew us by name. In Figeac every Saturday and Sunday morning “Le Marche” was operating. This is the Market Place where local vendors would sell foods, clothes, wine, and so many other things at a cheap price. The market definitely took a toll on my spending money while abroad. If you ever have the chance to see “Le Sud de France” GO FOR IT.
