Greece

This summer, I had the opportunity to spend two and a half weeks in one of the most beautiful places: Greece. I spent 3 days in Athens (mainly for the full Greek historical experience), 1 week in Naxos and 1 week in Tinos. Going to Greece had always been a dream of mine, so being able to go this summer was truly a life changing experience. The island that I most enjoyed was definitely Naxos, Naxos is settled in the Aegean Sea and the largest of the Cyclades. I travelled with my French exchange student Camille and her parents. Even though I was in a foreign country, I felt completely safe when I was in Greece. The people were so friendly and everyone spoke English, making conversing with locals a lot simpler. The beaches were like something out of a movie, the water was crystal clear and so warm. Going snorkelling at the “Plaka Beach” was a highlight of my trip, that is until my “waterproof” GoPro decided to break 1 week in. Another highlight of any foreign experience, is the food. The meals in Greece were always fresh and typically consisted of vegetables, sea food, and hummus (accompanied by pita of course). My absolute favorite dish (which is quite basic, excuse me) was Gyros. Gyros are a Greek speciality that is basically just meat, onions, tomatoes, lettuce and french fries wrapped in flat bread. I know that seems really  really simple and probably isn’t Greece’s most distinguished dish… but they were amazing. One blog post about a place like Greece certainly is not sufficient, so a part two will be posted soon:).Processed with VSCO with hb1 presetimg_0232.jpgIMG_0589.jpgimg_0368.jpgScreen Shot 2018-09-08 at 13.34.20
